Minister Impressed With Dormaa Sports Centre

Youth and Sports Minister left the multipurpose sports centre of excellence highly impressed with progress of work on the facility.

In the company of Agyemang Manu, Dormaa Member of Parliament and Minister of Health, NSA boss and NYA officials, he expressed satisfaction about the contractor KA Dwamena’s work taking into account the complex nature of the site.

He also commended the contractor for his high sense of innovation; having factored in additional facilities like a hostel to befit a modern centre of excellence.

In a post inspection facility tour, he said “I must say, I am impressed with progress of work so far, every site has its challenge; this one, I’m told required massive filling according to the contractor, but he and his team have performed creditably.

“We have made our inputs by way of suggestions; we want him to do a good job.”

MP for the area, in like manner, expressed satisfaction about the facility and thanked government for the facility aimed at providing a platform for the youth to exhibit their talents.

The project contractor pointed out that the project is 70% complete and promised to hand it over before the end of the year.

The facility, one of the ten centres dotted across the country houses a football field, tartan tracks, volleyball/basketball courts, ICT/Counselling Centres and a restaurant.

So far, the sports chief has inspected seven centres-Volta, Eastern, Central, Ashanti, Western and Brong Ahafo.

The Atwima Mponua MP is expected to inspect the facilities at the three Northern Regions this week.
