Minister Storms Church Over Noise Making

EXCESSIVE NOISE, reportedly made by the congregation of the House of Bethel Ministries at Anwomaso in the Ashanti Region, forced the regional minister, Simon Osei Mensah, to go to the church with a protest.

The minister, who resides at Anwomaso, was said to have been disturbed in his sleep by the loud noise of the congregants during an all-night prayer service on Saturday.

Mr  Osei Mensah reportedly, stormed the church and complained bitterly to the members about the noise making at that odd hour, which he claimed was disturbing many people living in the community.

The minister’s appeal to the church members to stop the noise making was said to have fallen on deaf ears and therefore he was forced to call in the police to seize some speakers belonging to the church.

Mr Osei Mensah, who confirmed his action on Hello FM Saturday morning, refused to delve deep into the matter. He only said that the church members breached the law on noise making.

He therefore admonished churches in the city to refrain from using their activities, especially night services and other programmes, to disturb other people.

Eyewitnesses said the church’s all-night service was characterized by singing and dancing; and so they made a lot of noise at a time when most of the residents had retired to their beds.
