The Minority Caucus in Parliament has extended an olive branch to the Ghana Police Service, inviting them to a meeting to discuss the modalities of their upcoming “OccupyBoG” demonstration.
The NDC Minority has been critical of the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) handling of the country’s economy, citing high inflation rates, a depreciating currency, and a growing debt burden.
In a statement, the Minority Caucus expressed their intention to stage a second “OccupyBoG” demonstration, following a similar protest held earlier in the year.
The demonstration aims to draw attention to the BoG’s policies and their impact on the economy.
However, instead of taking to the streets without prior notice, the Minority Caucus has decided to engage with the Police to ensure a peaceful and orderly protest.
According to the NDC, the meeting will focus on discussing the logistics of the demonstration, including the route, timing, and security arrangements.
The meeting is expected to take place in the coming days, with both parties working together to finalize the details of the demonstration.
