The motorbike
A MALE adult, believed to be around 58 years old, reportedly died on the spot after being knocked down by a motorbike at Bronikrom on the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway.
The sad incident happened around 7 p.m. on October 23, 2025. The body of the deceased has been deposited in a mortuary for autopsy while the motor rider, Bismark Jijiri, has been arrested.
According to the Mankranso Police in the Ashanti Region, on that fateful day, the now-deceased man, who is suspected to be mentally challenged, was walking along the Sunyani-Kumasi road.
Bismark Jijiri, the police said, who was in charge of an unregistered motorbike from Aboffour to Kunsu-Wioso, upon reaching Bronikrom, accidentally, knocked down the man to end his life.
The case was reported to the Mankranso Police, who rushed to the accident scene, seized the motorbike and arrested the rider. They also conveyed the dead body to the morgue.
A police statement, confirming the case said “On 23/10/2025 about 1900 hours, suspect rider Bismark Jijiri, 28 years, was riding unregistered Haojin motorbike from Aboffour to Kunsu-Wioso.
“On reaching a section of the road at Bronikrom on Kumasi-Sunyani Highway, he knocked down a male adult aged about 58 suspected to be a lunatic who was walking along the road, and he died instantly.”
The police continued that the body was deposited at Plus Lab Mortuary-Mankranso awaiting identification and autopsy, adding “Suspect rider in custody as accident motorbike impounded at the station.”
