MUSIGA Mourns Rawlings

The leadership of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has paid a courtesy call on the family of the late former President President JJ Rawlings to commiserate with them.

The acting President of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons, who led the delegation, expressed the grief of the music industry on the death of the former President.

He spoke of the special relationship between the union and former President Rawlings who always had some words of advice for the union whenever the leadership of the union called on him.

He recalled the last time the union’s leaders met him when he lost his mother.

He lauded the support former President Rawlings gave to the music industry.

The acting Vice-President of MUSIGA, Rev. Dr. Thomas Yawson, on his part, assured the family of the support of the union and the entire music industry in their moments of grief.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Ambassador Victor Gbeho, expressed the gratitude of the family for the kind words and expression of sympathy from the industry.

Dr. Ezanetor Rawlings, MP for Korle Klottey Constituency and daughter of former President Rawlings also expressed the family’s appreciation for the visit and support from the music industry.

Present at the meeting was former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Amina and Yaa Asantewaa, both daughters of President Rawlings.

The delegations included Diana Hopeson, former MUSIGA President, Chizzy Wailer, MUSIGA national organiser, Tagoe Sisters and evergreen stars Pat Thomas and Naa Amanua of Wulomei fame.
