Nana Akua Addo and husband. INSET: Nana Akua Addo after the assault
FOOTAGES OF fashion influencer Nana Akua Addo looking disfigured has gone viral, with many implying that the star icon has been physically assaulted by husband Harold Norman.
A video circulating online shows her with visible injuries, including a swollen lip and a cut beneath her eye, with blood on her clothes and the floor.
A section of the video showed the fashion diva been hospitalised after an alleged assault by her husband. While the media awaits her to address the abuse, manager to Nana Akua Addo, Dapper Jayden, took to Instagram to throw shots at men who abuse women.
In a series of post in his story, he wrote, “A man who makes his home a place of fear has no place pretending to be a man of honour; society has no room for people who weaponise violence against those they should protect. There is nothing masculine, powerful, or respectable about terrorising a woman and her children; people who choose violence over protection deserve to be held accountable, not protected by the immediate family or society. Some people don’t deserve a seat at the table of society when they have made their own home a battlefield for the people who trusted, loved & respect them the most.”
Following the alleged assault, many public figures including media personality Sammy Flex Baah have called for the protection of celebrities.
In a post on Facebook, Sammy Flex wrote: “Social media shows the glam, but real life can sometimes be clumsy. Sorry to the fashion queen cos (because) the videos online are very heartbreaking. Celebrities do go through a lot too. Let’s protect our celebrities if we can.”
His comment comes after a video circulating on social media showed the fashion icon with visible injuries following the alleged incident.
Meanwhile, the lawyer for Harold Duodu Norman, husband of actress and fashion icon Nana Akua Addo, has denied claims that he assaulted her.
In a statement issued by Emmanuel Bright Atokoh Esq., the lawyer said videos and photos circulating online that insinuate his client assaulted his wife are “a well calculated attempt to control the public narrative.”
According to the statement, the incident in question occurred in 2021 when Mr. Norman returned from an event and was accused of infidelity by his wife, who allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife.
The lawyer claims this was the third time the actress had stabbed her husband during their marriage, adding that previous incidents were reported to the police at Nmai Dzorn, Spintex and East Legon, but were later withdrawn to protect her public image and for the sake of their children.
He stated that on the day in question, his client, in self-defence, used a dressing mirror with wooden cladding to block the knife, and the mirror broke, with a shred hitting her lip and causing the injury seen in the videos.
“It is therefore categorically false that our client assaulted her leading to the injury as she is speculating online,” the statement said.
The lawyer further alleged that his client rushed her to the hospital at the time, but she recorded the incident and released it five years later to elicit public sympathy, while the matter is already before the court in the case titled Rosemond Akua Adobea vrs Harold Duodu Norman – Suit No. DM/0607/2026 and under investigation at the Police DOVVSU.
He added that Nana Akua Addo has been on the run from investigators since July 2026 over a separate complaint of domestic violence against the children of the marriage.
In a statement issued by Fafa Fianu Esq., of Nkrabeah & Associates, on behalf of Rosemond Akua Adobea aka Nana Akua Addo, the firm said the videos were leaked without her knowledge and consent.
The firm noted that the matter is sub judice and before the appropriate authorities, and expressed confidence in the Ghana Police Service and the court system to handle the domestic violence case. It said the client will address all pertinent issues at the appropriate time, and appealed to the media and public to respect the family’s privacy.
