Nana Assures Fair Distribution Of Projects In New Regions

President Nana Akufo-Addo

KEY INFRASTRUCTURE projects to be established in the six new regions of Gnana would be spread fairly to ensure proper decentralisation.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo gave the assurance when he met chiefs and people of Jasikan, Biakoye, Kadjebi-Akan Districts and the SALL Enclave (Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe a Lolobi).

At the meeting held at Jasikan on Tuesday May 14, the Paramount Chief of Buem Traditional area, Nana Aburam Akpanja V, reiterated that key projects of the new region should not be sited in the capital, Dambai alone, but spread across other areas.

He went on to suggest that the Oti Regional Hospital should be sited at Worawora.

According to him, Jasikan had enough facilities to become home to a University for Planning and Rural Development.

Reacting to the plea of the Chief, the President assured that “the new regions will do things differently. It is in our plan to ensure fair distribution of facilities to ensure proper decentralisation.”

The President announced that “you will see work begin on the Hohoe-Jasikan- Dodi Pepesu portion of the Eastern Corridor road.”
