Expectations are high as Nana Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) starts his five-day ‘Arise For Change’ tour of the Brong Ahafo region today.

The NPP flagbearer will start the tour at Bechem, the Tano South District capital, where he will interact with the chiefs and people of town.

Nana Addo will also launch Tano South Constituency Campaign and introduce the parliamentary candidate, Benjamin Sekyere to the people.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE about the visit, Deputy Regional Secretary of the party, Kofi Boateng said “this is the first time that Nana Addo is embarking on the ‘Arise For Change’ tour of the Brong Ahafo Region.”

According to him, from Tano South constituency, Nana Addo will move to Tano North, pay courtesy call on the traditional council and confer with the people of Yanfo.

From there, the flagbearer will proceed to Abesim in the Sunyani West District and also engage with chiefs and people of the area and give them his message of hope. He will travel to Sunyani Magazine where he will interact with mechanics and assure them of good policies he will put in place to revamp their business that are collapsing due to high electricity tarrifs imposed on them by Mahama administration. He will address a durbar of market women at Sunyani Taxi Rank, he stated.

On the second day of the tour, the flagbearer and his entourage will move to Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District, specifically Diabaar and later pay a courtesy call on Dormaahene, Osiadeyo  Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II at his palace at Dormaa Central. He will then proceed to Dormaa East.

On the third day, the NPP presidential candidate will worship at Apostle Continuation Church at Wenchi and speak to artisans at Noase, all in the Wenchi District to identify their concerns.

Mr Boateng said the NPP flagbearer will speak about the DKM scandal which has crippled many businesses in the region and also highlight his policies on agriculture.

He will also discuss plans to establish a Cashew Marketing Board to help cashew farmers get the right prices to make their labour worthwhile, he added.
