“Within the English system you are called the fourth estate and it is said for good reason; you are an indispensable part of governance. You are the mirror which the nation and the society looks through and see for what is going on,” he noted.

In view of that, the President insisted that “the work you are doing is very, very important and you should recognize that you are doing an important work for the development of the society. It shouldn’t be that this is your job, yes this is your job but its consequences, its impacts are very, very widespread. They help in shaping and molding our society.”

Dean of the Presidential Press Corps, Charles Takyi-Boadu, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked President Akufo-Addo, Dr Bawumia and Mrs Osei Opare, Eugene Arhin, for the opportunity to serve the nation.

Mr Takyi-Boadu, a senior reporter with DAILY GUIDE, reiterated the commitment of the Press Corps to unflinchingly supporting “the good course we are charting.”
