Lawrence Acquah, a businessman, who posed as a participant at a conference held in a hotel at Airport City and stole various items at the venue, has been apprehended by the Airport Police.

The suspect, according to reports, stole various laptops and mobile phones of participants, including officials of National Communication Authority (NCA).

He was arrested by the hotel authorities after he was captured on CCTV stealing the items during a coffee break.

Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Efia Tenge, said nine laptops, laptop bags, pen drives, external hard drives, internet routers and other valuable items were retrieved from him.

She said Acquah dressed nicely and participated in the conference on that fateful day.

During the coffee break, participants left their bags and valuables to have breakfast and the suspect moved to the conference hall to steal the items.

However, a CCTV of the hotel captured him and this led to his arrest.

“Some of the items were found in his possession during his arrest and when the Airport Police mounted a search at his residence, a number of laptops and laptop bags, including the external drive were discovered.
She said Acquah would assist the police in investigations.
