Radio & TV personality Ato Turkson has described his late brother, Nana Turkson, as not just a strong pillar to his family but also his career.

Nana died on Tuesday afternoon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He was 42.

A family source told NEWS-ONE on Tuesday evening that he complained about not feeling well that day but he couldn’t make it back home after he was taken to the hospital.

Wednesday media reports say Nana Turkson had been battling with diabetes.

Nana, born Bertrand Turkson, is an entertainment critic and author. The author of the ‘Success Journal’ is widely known for his depth of knowledge in the arts and showbiz, sense of humour and objectivity.

He served as a panel member on a lot of entertainment discussion programmes on radio and television, including Joy FM, Zylofon FM and a number of others.

He also worked as a board member for several award schemes, including the Peoples’ Celebrity Awards.

His junior brother, Ato Turkson, who is broken by the sudden death, said his family will miss him.

“He was my big brother, and he was instrumental to my media career when I started. We shared many good times. He will be dearly missed,” he told NEWS-ONE on Wednesday.

Reacting to claims that Nana Turkson might have been killed by diabetics, he said, “It’s not true. We are yet to ascertain the cause of death though he was diabetic. No one knows yet.”
