‘NDC Failed To Pay For Chairs Supplied To Hwidiem SHS’

THE PARAMOUNT chief of Hwidiem Traditional Area, Osuodumgya Barima Apea-Dwaah Boafo II, has blamed erstwhile National Democratic Congress administration for failure to pay for chairs supplied to Hwidiem Senior High School in the Ahafo Region.

He said the NDC’s refusal to pay for the chairs was the reason a pickup belonging to Asutifi South Education Directorate has been confiscated through court action.

The chief revealed this on Friday when President Akufo-Addo and his entourage paid a courtesy call on him in his palace at Hwidiem in the Asutifi South District.

He said the chairs for the school were supplied by a contractor ordered by the GETFUND during the NDC administration, but they failed to pay for the chairs and the supplier took the case to court, and a Fifa order was placed on the pickup.

The chief then appealed to the President to intervene on behalf of the education directorate to get back the pickup since the absence of the car was posing transportation challenges to the education service in the district.

The President promised to relay the information to the education minister for redress.
