NDC To Hold National Congress Dec. 19

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), will hold its National Delegates Congress on December 19, 2026, to elect new national party leaders.

General Secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, who announced this at a press conference in Accra, said the internal elections would start at the branch level through to the constituency and regional structures, and later hold the National Executive election.

According to the General Secretary, the filing of nominations will take place from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026, while the vetting of aspirants is slated for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.

He said the party will also begin its appeals process on Sunday, November 15 and Monday, November 16, 2026, and continue with the youth and women conference on Saturday, December 12, 2026.

Mr. Kwetey explained that the internal elections forms part of the party’s preparations to reorganise and strengthen its structures in the lead up to the 2028 general election.

“This completes the very important edifice that is supposed to prepare for the next round of fighting for power in the country, and also ensure that we continue the good job that we are doing. That congress will happen on Saturday, December 19, 2026,” he stated.
