Ghana will soon partner officials of the 2019 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit to organise a global entrepreneurship summit in Ghana.

John Ampontuah Kumah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), who made this known, said the summit would attract many businesses around the world, especially from India, to explore opportunities in Ghana and partner local firms.

Mr Kumah was recently in Ahmedabad, India to participate in the ongoing 2019 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.

“I met government officials and organisers of the programme to explore avenues of helping Indian businesses set up in Ghana.  I met the chairman of the organizing committee of the 2019 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Kamlesh Gohil and the Member of Parliament (MP) of Surendranagar Gujarat, Thakor Devjibhai G. Fatepara, Rajiv Shah, Member of State level committee of Gujarat Government among other high-ranking state officials. Fortunately the discussion has gone well.”

In August last year, NEIP announced that 1,350 businesses from all 10 regions of the country had benefitted from the Presidential Business Support Programme, an initiative of the Akufo-Addo Government.

The 1,350 beneficiaries would each receive the Ministry of Business Development’s continuous training and capacity building, mentorship and business advisory services, free accounting services, access to business networking opportunities and seed capital ranging from GH¢10,000 to GH¢100,000.

According to Mr. Kumah, “Another agenda of NEIP is to decentralize entrepreneurship. Every Ghanaian business, no matter where the idea is birthed, must be watered to grow. As for NEIP we are ready to support your business no matter how big or small, hence we look forward to working with the Council to rake in more support for businesses and start-ups.”
