Vice President Attends World Economic Forum

Vice President Dr Bawumia and Christine Lagarde, IMF Boss

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia left Accra on Tuesday for Davos, Switzerland to attend the 2019 World Economic Forum Annual meetings.

The annual event brings together heads and members of more than 100 governments, top executives of the 1,000 foremost global companies in the world, leaders of international organizations and relevant non-governmental organizations, the most prominent cultural, societal and thought leaders and disruptive voices of the Forum’s Young Global Leaders, Global Shapers and Technology Pioneers.

While in Davos, Vice President Dr Bawumia will participate in several meetings and also meet with a number of world and business leaders to deliberate on ways to accelerate the socio-economic development of Ghana and Africa to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A statement signed by Frank Agyei-Twum, Director of Communications at the Office of the Vice President, which made this known, said Vice President Dr Bawumia would return to Accra tomorrow, Friday, 25th January, 2019.
