New cases of Covid-19 infections appear to be taking a downward trend according to the case management data from the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Analysis of confirmed Covid-19 figures from August 3 to 14 showed that new infections recorded by the GHS has reduced from 798 to 122, with the exception of August 8 when the number of cases (470) was higher than the previous day’s cases (436).
The GHS data on the number of active Covid-19 cases has also seen a favorable decline to 1,906 cases currently. However, deaths related to the infection are rising with a current toll of 223.
Clinical recoveries from Covid-19 in the country have been on an upward trend, since the GHS started implementing the new World Health Organization (WHO) discharge/recovery policy. As at August 14, recoveries stand at 39,718.
Latest Cases
The cumulative Covid-19 case count has increased to 41,847 after 122 new cases were recorded by the GHS.
The Greater Accra Region is leading the regional breakdown of confirmed cases with 20,865 recorded cases.
The Ashanti Region has 10,431 cases, Western Region, 2,860 cases, Eastern Region, 2,013 cases and the Central Region, 1,751 cases.
The Bono East Region has 703 Covid-19 cases, Volta Region, 628 cases, Western North Region, 580 cases and the Ahafo Region, 469 cases.
The Northern Region has 454 cases, Bono Region, 439 cases, Upper East Region, 282 cases, Oti Region, 213 cases, Upper West Region, 88 cases, Savannah Region, 62 cases and the North East Region nine cases.
