THE NATIONAL Lottery Authority (NLA) has commenced the instant payment of wins with effect from March 8, 2022.
In a release issued yesterday, the authority stated that it will make instant payments to winners of small amounts after its live draws.
The positive development, according to the release, “forms part of efforts by the authority to enhance the playing experience for its patrons while reducing the wait period for payment of win amounts.”
Payments to the tune of GH¢1,200.00 or less can therefore be redeemed instantly after the draw via USSD code*389*100#.
To redeem cash instantly, the NLA has advised winners to
dial *389*100#, select option 2 (win payment), enter winning ticket number, confirm winning ticket number, enter surname and select mobile network. This will be followed by the entry of phone number, the selection of ID type, entry of ID number after which they wait for their wallets to be credited.
The NLA continued that to further boost the payment of wins, it will set up prize payment centres at its head office and all its regional and district offices nationwide, for the payment of wins by the end of March.
The authority has, between December and March, also paid outstanding wins to the tune of GH¢10,500,000.00 and seeks to clear all arrears by March 30, 2022.
NLA expressed gratitude to its cherished patrons and stakeholders for keeping faith with it, adding that “the authority remains committed to its mandate to create moments of hope and happiness through exciting lottery games and to generate revenue for national development.”
