The organisers of the maiden edition Western Gospel Awards have disclosed the event will be held on Sunday, October 24 at Word of Life Assemblies of God Church, Anaji in Takoradi.
They made this known at a ceremony held to officially announce the nominees for the awards.
Being organised by Prolific GH Entertainment, the awards scheme has 24 categories.
Among the keenly contested categories include the Gospel Artiste of the Year which has nominees Navah, SK Frimpong, Ewuraba Eesi, KDM and JK.
The nominees for the Western New Gospel Artiste of the Year category includes Willievans, Mabel Love, AJ Quansah, Gracy Incoom, Enoch AJ, Nathaniel Mensah, BrAA Owens, KD, Princess Tina, Baaba Eshun, Kofi Ayeyi and
Apostle Eddy Acquah.
The Western Female Gospel Artiste of the Year category would see Ewuraba Eesi, Theresa Acquah, AJ Quansah, Obaapa Monic, Mabel Love and Yvonne Menz vying for the award, whilst EL Manuel, Navah, Kwamiena, JK, J-Josh, Mike Dennis, KDM, Isaac K Dentu and SK Frimpong have all been nominated in the Western Male Gospel Artiste of the Year category.
A number of Western Region based gospel artistes, producers as well as some radio and television personalities have also been nominated in some of the categories.
Some of the categories are Western Female Gospel Artiste of the Year, Western Instrumentalist of the Year, Western Male Vocalist of the Year, Western Gospel Radio/TV Presenter of the Year, Western Denominational Choir of the Year, Western Gospel Traditional Song of Year among others.
