Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia continues to receive plaudits for his achievements since assuming the position.
Chief among is not only how he had led various social intervention programmes including Free Senior High School (SHS), digitalisation drive, paperless system, mobile money interoperability, medical drone service delivery, introduction of Ghana Card and many more, but how he has managed to keep a credible track record as a politician.
Almost everywhere he goes on his campaign tour, chiefs, clergymen and imams all shower praises on him for this feat.
During his visit to Dzodze, in the Ketu North Constituency, a revered man of God, Rev. Dr. Solomon Paintsil, who identifies with the Assemblies of God Church and spoke on behalf of the clergy, amplified it the more at a stakeholder engagement.
He started by saying, “Your personal lifestyle which is characterised with discipline is noticeable all over the place; it is something we want to commend you for.”
“You are one politician that cannot be tagged with the issue of corruption. Permit me to say that your Excellency, it appears you are corruption free.
“I don’t know maybe you have some injection that gives you immunity from corruption,” he said in praise of Dr. Bawumia, who is the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate in the upcoming December 7 general election.
That, he said, was due to the fact that “in fact when I go through the media, social media and what not, you will never come across any statement, any video or anything that attempts to bring him into the arena of corruption.”
Rev. Paintsil therefore applauded the Vice President for that feat, saying, “your visionary character or visionary spirit; one politician, one leader, one Vice President full of visions; with you it is possible. Because of you Ghana can pride itself of certain facilities that other countries cannot or nations don’t even dream of.”
“Today, medical or medications can be supplied through the use of drones in this country. It doesn’t matter the distance, you are able to do this, and we applaud you sir,” he said.
For the man of God, these “can only come from a man who can dream; a man who can see the possibilities.”
Apart from that, the man of God noted that “your execution of your dreams have always been characterised with excellence; you are a man of excellence. Anything you attempt to do, you do it with all the excellence that it needs; because if it must be done, it must be done well.”
He, therefore, assured Dr. Bawumia that “we are here for you and with you. The presence of the clergy here tells you that the atmosphere is cleared,” with a wish in tow “we are expecting that should the dream come true and you become the next President; we are believing that greater things will happen, and we of the Ketu North will not be an exception.”
On his part, the Paramount Chief of Dzodze, Togbega Dzoku V, thanked Dr. Bawumia for the many things he has used his office to facilitate for the country, especially Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education.
“Your leadership and vision has been a beacon of hope for our people, and we are eternally grateful for your efforts.
“We pledge to work diligently to ensure your success. May your leadership continue to inspire us,” was how he put it.
Dr. Bawumia could not hide his excitement at the number of people who came out to meet him with its accompanying warm reception.
He promised not to betray the trust and confidence they have in him.
