Pepsodent has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to improving oral health among children through its nationwide schools’ programme, a flagship initiative that has been running for over 20 years.

As part of initiatives marking World Oral Health Day (WOHD), the programme continues to drive awareness and behavioral change, having impacted more than 15 million school children across Ghana over the years.

The schools’ programme is designed to equip children with essential knowledge on proper oral care and hygiene, instilling habits that contribute to lifelong health and well-being. Through engaging and interactive sessions, students are taught the importance of brushing correctly, maintaining oral hygiene, and preventing common dental issues such as cavities.

This year’s campaign is centered on the theme “Do The 2” – Brush Day and Night, a simple but powerful message aimed at addressing the rising incidence of cavities among children. By encouraging consistent brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, Pepsodent is working to drive a nationwide shift toward proper oral health practices.

Since the start of the 2026 rollout in March, the programme has already reached over 20 schools across various communities.

In addi6on to oral health education, Pepsodent is integrating sustainability into the programme through its recycling initiative. Participating schools are provided with dedicated bins to collect used toothpaste tubes, encouraging students to adopt environmentally responsible habits from an early age.

To further drive participation, students and teachers who collect the highest number of tubes are rewarded with special prizes, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship alongside health consciousness.

Both the schools programme and the recycling intiative will continue to run throughout the year, expanding their reach to more schools and communities nationwide. This sustained engagement reflects Pepsodent’s belief that meaningful behavior change requires consistency, reinforcement, and community involvement.

As World Oral Health Day activities continue, Pepsodent’s schools programme stands as a testament to the brand’s enduring commitment to improving oral health outcomes in the countty, one child, one school, and one community at a time.
