Pink FM’s DJ Afeefe Wins Best Mid-Morning Show Award

Pink FM’s mid-morning show host, Prince Appiah-Kubi, popularly known as DJ Afeefe De Mayor, was adjudged the best mid-morning show host on radio in the Central Region at the Foklex Media Awards 2021 held last Saturday at the National Theatre in Accra.

He beat off competition from Sofo Antwi Bosiako (Ahomka FM), Mr. Addison (Kingdom FM, Cape Coast), Martha Akua Ankomah (African Queen) Nyce FM, Michael Eghan (Eagle FM) and Frank Kofigah (Kingdom FM, Mankessim).

The awards ceremony, which is in its 10th edition, was organised to celebrate and reward radio and television personalities for their outstanding achievements over the years.

DJ Afeefe, who is winning the award for the first time, has been very consistent with his creative style of presentation. His radio show is aired from Monday to Friday between 10am and 12pm.

Since he became the host of the show, DJ Afeefe has carved a niche for himself as one of the radio mid-morning show hosts in the Central Region who gives listeners a unique blend of good music spiced with unadulterated news, information and education.

Mid-morning show on Pink FM, according DJ Afeefe, is dedicated to giving listeners the ultimate experience on radio.

In an interview with BEATWAVES, the presenter expressed gratitude to his listeners for their support, which enabled him to win the best radio mid-morning show of the year award, adding, “I promise to keep up the good work and contribute my quota to making the Ghanaian entertainment industry as vibrant as ever.”

According to him, the way to succeed in radio broadcasting is to establish long-term strategies based on effective techniques.

He, however, dedicated his award to God and those who contributed to his successful career.
