Player Celebrates With Backside

Ricky Saponara displayed his ’99 ways’ of celebration

Sampdoria midfielder, Ricky Saponara said there are ’99 ways of celebrating’ after his dramatic equaliser against Lazio.

The 26-year-old’s brilliant flicked volley lobbed past home goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha and gave his side a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico to send the away fans wild.

Saponara then leapt into the travelling support and was bombarded by supporters who managed to pull down his underpants after he lost his shorts.

The equaliser in the ninth minute of added time came after an enthralling final few minutes which began when Sampdoria’s Bartosz Bereszynski was shown a second yellow card in the second minute of added time.

Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile then netted what looked like the winner in the 96th minute from the penalty spot before Saponara’s cheeky intervention.

’99 ways of celebrating,’ reacted Saponara on Instagram.

‘Thanks to all my team-mates who shared with me this crazy moment – especially that prankster Lorenzo Tonelli.’

The Italian’s strike was the latest goal scored in Serie A since Opta began recording statistics in 2004-05.

‘We played great in the first half but we didn’t do as well in the second half. We were a little lucky but we are very happy,’ he explained to DAZN.

‘I ran to the fans behind the goal and they tore all my clothes off!’
