Police Chase Twitter Lady Over Father’s Death

A lady identified on Twitter as Naa Judith has been declared wanted by the Ghana Police Service for questioning after she took to the social media page of the police to challenge the shooting to death of a suspect she claims was her father.

She said “trigger-happy hoodlums parading as Ghana Police officers” had shot and killed her father at Ntoaso near Nsawam in the Eastern Region recently, over claims that her father was an armed robber.

The lady, who is currently at large, and believed to be hiding at Nsawam, claimed her father was a suspected armed robber who got shot by police officers after he (now deceased) shot one of the officers first.

Some officers in mufti in May this year stormed Ntoaso and shot to death four people suspected to be robbers before returning on June 29 to shoot and kill another two, one of whom the lady who goes by the Twitter handle @realnaajudith, said was her father.

The residents of the area have maintained that the police specifically targeted the lady’s father because they claimed he had “video evidence on his phone on the killing of the four guys” in the previous month.

However, the police are saying they seized 3,000 AK47 ammunition from the alleged armed robber at Ntoaso during the operations.

The lady then took to Twitter to post photos of her father’s house in which he was allegedly killed by police officers.

She repeated the allegation that he was shot to death because “he had video evidence on his phone on the killing of four guys by the police two months ago.”

@realnaajudith wrote on Twitter: “29th June 2021, 3pm trigger-happy hoodlums parading as Ghana police officers went to my dad’s house, shot & killed him because he had video evidence on his phone on the killing of four (4) guys by the police two (2) months ago!!! I am dumbfounded! WtF is going on Ghana?”

But the Ghana Police Service dismissed the claim in a reply to her tweet, saying the very pictures she referred to were similar to those of a house in which they shot a suspected armed robber.

According to the police, “These pictures show a place similar to the place at Ntoaso in the Eastern Region where police arrested armed robbers and retrieved several arms and ammunition including about 3,000 AK 47 ammunition,” adding that “The man who shot one of the officers was also shot by the Police.”

“Does that means your father was the armed robber who was shot by police?” the police replied the tweet before saying “You @realnaajudith should answer questions from the police.”
