The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam and his wife, Lady Monica Wengam have ended an apostolic visit to Ashanti North Assemblies of God, Ghana to fellowship with pastors, retired ministers and their spouses as well as widows of pastors.
About 360 of them attended the event at CCC Assemblies of God, Airport Roundabout in Kumasi.
Rev. Wengam led a three and half hour non-stop prayer as the participants and their spouses renewed their wedding vows.
He also preached a sermon titled, “Attaining Holiness through Adherence to Pure Religion” (James 1:27).
The National President of the Ministers Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam encouraged the widows and retired ministers and their spouses to remain resolute in their faith.
As part of her vision to support the vulnerable in the church, she presented a piece of cloth each and an undisclosed amount of cash to the widows, retired ministers and their spouses. Lady Mrs. Wengam also gave a piece of cloth each to wives of pastors and female clergy. The gesture was solely sponsored by the first couple of the church.
The General Superintendent announced that new committees and boards have been formed and launched to assist in the implementation of the Transformation Agenda of the church. Some are Legacy Temple, Centenary City Project, Family Life Enrichment Committee, Missions Samaritan Fund and Church Planting Committee.
Others are Archival and Research, Awards and Commendations, Doctrinal Purity and Conflict Resolution.
The Regional Superintendent of Ashanti North Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. George Ampofo led the congregation to pray for the General Superintendent and wife, and extended their appreciation to them for the unprecedented visit and gifts presented to participants.
