Sekondi-Takoradi and Tarkwa in the Western Region are the new hotspots for Covid-19 Infection.
Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Patrick Aboagye, made this known at the Covid-19 press briefing on May 26, in Accra.
According to him, the towns recorded 57 out of the156 new confirmed cases which have shot up the case count to 6,964 as of May 26.
The Greater Accra Region recorded 72 new cases while the Central Region recorded 23 new cases.
The Volta Region recorded 10 new cases while the Ashanti Region recorded four new cases.
Dr Aboagye said a team will be sent to the towns to help mitigate the spread of the infection.
He also indicated that there has been no case of Covid-19 reinfection in Ghana.
Ghana’s number of Covid-19 recoveries has also increased to 2,097 from the previous 2,070 recorded yesterday.
There has been no new death recorded as fatalities remain 32.
