Senegal’s President Demands Urgent Action After 8 deaths at beaches

The President of Senegal, Macky Sall has stated that the deaths of young people by drowning is intolerable.

He has therefore called for urgent security action to be taken.

He made the call in a tweet, saying emphatically that “The death of young people by drowning on the beaches of Malika is intolerable.”

At least eight people mostly in their 20s reportedly died off the beaches in Senegal’s national capital Dakar.

So far, at least seven bodies have been recovered on the beach on Sunday, and one was washed up on shore on Monday, the AFP news agency reported.
