Kwahu Traditional Council (KTC), Let’s Tour Kwahu – a tourism promotion outfit, in collaboration with Medivent Consult – an event management outfit, would this year organize the first ever Kwahu Easter Marathon and Community Gala, as part of activities for the 2018 Easter celebrations.
The “twin events” which are aimed at giving the youth of Kwahu, the opportunity to exhibit their sporting talents and also change the face of the festival, would be held on Saturday, March 24 and 30 respectively.
The 40-kilometer marathon would commence at Nkawkaw, through to the principal towns and the mountains, with the finishing point at the premises of KTC, Mpraeso, where the Kwahuhene Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II and his elders, are expected to receive participants and present prizes to the winners.
In a statement signed by Mr. Edward K. Boahen, Project Coordinator of Medivent Consult, he said, though the marathon is part of the Kwahu Easter activities, the youth across Ghana as well as foreigners, are eligible to participate in it.
The statement said the marathon would seek to provide a platform for social interaction and a healthy competition for participants.
According to the statement, interested participants are expected to pick registration forms at the front desk of Kwahu Traditional Council, Agoo Fm and Ghana News Agency (GNA) at a fee of GH¢20.00 or contact 050-33636364 or 0242-837777 or 0545748380.
The statement said, the Community Gala, would feature 16 communities who would engage in a gala from March 30-April 1.
He said, there would be attractive prizes for winners of the two events and the details would be announced at the launch of the events on a date to be announced by the organizers.
