Dr. Amoakohene addressing the chiefs at Manhyia Palace
LAST SET of medical and infrastructural equipment installations are currently being done at the under-construction Ashanti Regional Hospital in Sewua near Kumasi, it has been announced.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, disclosed the above news when he recently briefed the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) about ongoing government projects in the region.
According the minister, all the necessary works that would make the Ashanti Regional Hospital operational soon are currently being done at the project site, citing the development as good news.
Dr. Amoakohene’s meeting with the chiefs, who are holding forth in the absence of their Overlord, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who has traveled to Canada, was held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
He recounted that Otumfuo asked the Road Minister, Kwame Agbodza, when he visited the Manhyia Palace, to ensure the construction of the Sewua road to ease vehicular traffic flow when the hospital becomes operational.
“Nananom, I’m happy to announce that the Roads Minister has fulfilled his promise to Otumfuo by awarding the Sewua road project to Kofi Job Road Construction firm”, he happily disclosed.
According to him, the engineers of Ghana Water Company Ltd in the region are also working assiduously in order to ensure constant supply of water at the Sewia Regional Hospital project.
Touching on other government projects in the Ashanti Region, he disclosed that government has also awarded the Anwia Nkwanta to Santase road project to Kofi Job Road Construction Ltd.
Dr. Amoakohene announced that while the Anwia Nkwanta to Santase road project has commenced already, the same road contractor is presently mobilising to move to site at Sewia to begin works.
The Ashanti Regional Minister was accompanied to the Manhyia Palace by Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi aka ‘Zuba’ the Kumasi Mayor and other officials of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).
