SIA-Africa Honours Education Minister

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh

DR. MATTHEW Opoku Prempeh nicknamed as Napo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South and Minister of Education, is the SIA-Africa Person of the month.

The prestigious award is given to personalities that are playing extraordinary roles to help in accelerating the transformational processes on the African continent.

Napo was seen as a worthy winner of the award following his significant contributions towards Ghana’s growth in recent times according to SIA-Africa.

SIA-Africa’s Citation

“Sustainable Initiatives and Alliance for Africa Person of the Month is awarded to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh,” a citation dated May 15, 2020 and signed by Nene Kodjoe, Founding Chairman and CEO of SIA-Africa, partly read, adding “it is in honour of his vision, passion and support to the people of Africa.”

“We at SIA-Africa value your passion, your hard work and your commitment to make a difference in Africa, especially in these trying times,” a note from SIA-Africa said further.

SIA-Africa’s Person of the Month award is to spur on the recipient to sustain his or her good works for humanity, and also motivate others to learn from their shining examples.

SIA-Africa said they recognize how Napo has been the brain behind the successful implementation of the famous Free SHS policy, which has increased the enrolment of students.

They said he had also played a pivotal role as an MP and has also helped to spread education on the dangers of the Covid-19 pandemic.
