Waje
Nigerian singer Aituaje Iruobe, also known as Waje, has lost her dad.
She announced the sad incident via an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
“A girl needs a father. A girl needs her father. This girl will always love her father. This girl will dearly miss her father. Rest well daddy you will always be in our hearts!” she wrote.
A number of Nigerian celebrities including Omawunmi, Korede Bello, Adunni Ade and others have all taken to social media to condole with the popular singer.
The condolence messages poured shortly after Waje announced the death of her father.
“Daddo! Rest well. Sisto! You are not alone,” Omawumi wrote.
Waje is one of Nigeria’s talented singers. Her name, W.A.J.E, is an acronym for Words Aren’t Just Enough and in fact, anyone who listened to any of her renditions will attest to the fact that words aren’t just enough to properly describe the power and potential of Aituaje Iruobe’s vocals. Waje also means laughter in her native tongue.
