Celebrated Ghanaian artistes such as Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Black Sherif, Sarkodie and Piesie Esther have been nominated for the 2023 Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA).
Each of these artistes have made significant impact on the Ghanaian music scene over the past year, and it will be exciting who takes the title from Kofi Kinaata, the reigning Artiste of the Year.
This year, the Emerging Artiste of the Year category has rising stars like Vanilla, Naana Blu, and Rcee.
The Gospel Artiste of the Year category also has nominees like Piesie Esther, Celestine Donkor, Obaapa Christie, Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Sonnie Badu, MOG Music, and others.
Some of the categories of the awards include Highlife Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year, and Best Collaboration of the Year.
The Ghana Music Awards, USA is designed to celebrate and honour Ghanaian entertainers in and outside the country; and aims to extend the advancement of the Ghanaian music industry at home and abroad.
The founder of GMA-USA, Dennis Boafo popularly known as Don D, said a lot of preparations have gone into making this year’s event sponsored by TapTap a memorable one.
According to him, the score mark for GMA-USA has always been high and the team was not ready to drop its performance.
