Stonebwoy and Keri Hilson
American singer and songwriter, Keri Lynn Hilson, has heaped praise on Ghanaian music icon, Stonebwoy, describing him as a calm and peaceful individual whose personality genuinely reflects in his music.
In a video circulating on social media, Hilson remarked that, while many musicians often have personalities that contrast sharply with the image they portray in their songs, Stonebwoy stands out as an exception. According to her, the award-winning reggae and dancehall artist is the same person offstage as he appears through his music.
Hilson further noted that Stonebwoy is not only easygoing but also approachable and open to conversations that go beyond music. Speaking in the video, she said some artists can be surprising when met in person, as their real-life character may differ from the emotions or messages in their songs. However, she emphasised that Stonebwoy’s music is a true reflection of who he is.
“One thing I can say about Stonebwoy is that some people you meet are nothing like the music they make, and it kind of takes you aback, but with Stonebwoy, he’s exactly the way he makes his records. He’s very calm, he’s very peaceful, he’s so in tune, he’s almost like an angel on earth. He serves a great purpose through his music, but it’s really who he is,” she stated.
Hilson also revealed that she and Stonebwoy have developed a strong personal connection, adding that they have spent hours speaking on the phone about life beyond their careers. “We’ve gotten to speak over the phone for several hours now, and we’ve had conversations about love, about life,” she added.
Stonebwoy and Keri Hilson previously collaborated in 2020 on “Nominate,” a track from Stonebwoy’s Fifth Dimension album. The song went on to become a global hit, further cementing Stonebwoy’s international appeal and influence in the global music scene.
