Rapper-turned-pastor, Yaw Siki, says born again Christians cannot be patronising secular music because it is a thing of the world.
According to the man of God, listening to worldly songs is unGodly.
He made this known in a Facebook video titled, “No more worldly songs”, on Monday.
“As a born again Christian, you are born of God. Don’t pay attention to the world. You are not born of the world. It is not the world that makes you a new creation, it is Jesus Christ and so your new creation spirit, your born again spirit needs songs that are inspired by the Holy Spirit to edify your spirit, lead your spirit, hold you and lead you into that eternal life, not worldly songs. And so songs that are termed worldly songs, they are not your songs because you are not born of the world. Romans 12:2 the world of God says that “Do not conform to this world,” so why do you want to pay attention to worldly songs …and you are asking can I listen to worldly songs,” he stated.
Yaw was a secular artiste but decided to give his life to Jesus Christ and stopped secular music after surviving an accident in April 2013 on the Accra-Tema Motorway.
He rose to fame in 2011 after he released his debut song ‘Wo Pe Dodo’ which was instantly a hit. But his life is not the same after his accident. He now devotes his time and energy to preaching the gospel.
On Sunday, he also wrote on Facebook saying women who are true Christians seeking to enter the kingdom of God in their afterlife should avoid wearing trousers. He added that wearing trousers is not from God.
“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God,” (Deuteronomy 22: 5).
The Holy Spirit we have in Jesus Christ will not lead any believer to do the opposite of God’s word, He won’t make you walk in an abomination; so please the trousers the women are wearing is not from God. The devil is using it to promote His sexual immoral agenda; please put it aside and dress to cover your body well,” he added, ignoring the fact that women have their own kind of trousers different from that of men.
