Teamwork Of Africa Power International Steals Show

Teamwork Of Africa Power International, a celebrated traditional music and dance group last Saturday thrilled traditional music and dance at this year’s edition of the annual ‘This Is Ghana Festival 2021’ at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

The festival was organized by Starnewsgh.com in partnership with Chrisbet Productions to create a platform to showcase Ghanaian and Africa’s rich culture and tradition.

During their performances, the Teamwork Of Africa Power International delighted cultural music fans with new dances from their large repertoire of traditional and choreographed dance pieces.

The allure of watching the performance of the group proved to be too much for some of the enthused fans as they eventually deserted their seats and joined in the dancing.

Accompanied by an array of African drums, shakers, xylophones and atenteben flutes, the group endeared itself to the hearts of cultural music fans who attended the event with its complex rhythms which exposed the beauty and diversity of Ghanaian cultural music and dance.

The group used the event to showcase over 20 different traditional dances at the festival which fascinated fans who kept asking for more.

The traditional music and dance group was formed with the aim of promoting and preserving the rich and authentic Ghanaian and African culture.

It can boast of over twenty choreographed dances that are accompanied by authentic African drum rhythms in their rich repertoire.

At the event of the event, Teamwork Of Africa Power International was honoured for its contribution towards the promotion of Ghanaian folkloric music, cultural and traditional dance.

The award was received on behalf of the group by its leader and artistic director, Derrick Kwadwo Antwi.

Acording to Derrick Kwadwo Antwi, over the past years, the group has gained wide recognition throughout Ghana, due to its spectacular performances to highly enthusiastic audiences.

He disclosed that the group has held workshops and seminars on Ghanaian and African music and dance for some selected schools in Ghana, as well as some foreign nationals who visited Ghana to learn Ghanaian traditional music and dance.
