CTV’s flagship entertainment show, ‘The Showbiz’, is returning after a hiatus from last year.

‘The Showbiz’ stopped showing to make way for a full and comprehensive coverage of the 2020 elections and its related issues.

However, the interactive entertainment show will start airing again from Friday, April 16, 2021.

‘The Showbiz’ analyses the business side of Ghana’s showbiz industry and trends, with the man at the helm of affairs being Kojo Preko Dankwa.

The show will bring together experienced panel members and guests to dissect topical issues in the country’s entertainment industry.

The show will be broadcast every Friday from 6 am to 10 am.

A few weeks ago, Ghanaian celebrities and entertainment analysts spoke against Accra-based television station CTV, following the suspension of the ‘The Showbiz’ programme hosted by Kojo Preko Dankwa on Fridays.

According to them, the programme gives the platform to discuss healthy entertainment issues and also gives the opportunity to young talents to sell their craft.

The President of Vhim Crew, Enock Agyepong, who is also a copyright advocate, had called on the management of CTV to reconsider the suspension of the Friday entertainment programme, saying the growing showbiz industry in Ghana needs such platforms to help improve it.

Enock Agyepong reiterated that ‘The Showbiz’ programme had given a lot of young talents the opportunity to showcase their craft to the world, and suspension of the programme won’t help the already dead industry to develop.
