Thomas Fosu’s One-Week Observance Marked

The one-week observance of the sad passing of Daily Guide’s senior staff, Samuel Thomas Fosu Jnr was held yesterday at the offices of the Daily Guide Network in Accra.

The solemn ceremony, which started at about 10 am till late afternoon, had sympathizers coming in to express their condolences to the family and staff of Daily Guide.

The sympathizers, including Ghana’s Ambassador to Germany, Mrs. Gina Blay, representatives of the Ghana Institute of Journalism Class of 95, Parliamentary Press Corps and the Public Affairs Department of Parliament, all signed the book of condolence in his honour.

Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) President, Dr. Roland Affail Monney; General Secretary of the GJA, Kofi Yeboah; Editor of the Ghanaian Times, David Agbenu; Head of Corporate Affairs of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals and Organizing Secretary of the GJA, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, among others were present at the event.

The Daily Guide lost its senior reporter, Samuel Thomas Fosu Jnr in the evening of Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Mr. Fosu was Daily Guide’s correspondent in the Eastern Region for over two decades and was also the immediate past Parliamentary Correspondent of the newspaper.

On the day of his untimely demise, Mr. Fosu covered the NPP press conference at the party’s national headquarters at Asylum Down, Accra, but felt unwell soon after composing his story at about 4:50 pm.

He passed on at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, otherwise called Ridge Hospital, where he had been referred to from the Nima Government Clinic.
