Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank is facing mounting internal pressure, with the club increasingly weighing up whether to bring an early end to his seven-month spell in charge.
The Danish coach has struggled to make a convincing impact since arriving last summer, and BBC Sport understands that at least one senior figure within Tottenham’s executive leadership has recently raised the possibility of dismissing him.
While the club hierarchy has so far continued to support Frank, patience appears to be wearing thin following Saturday’s home defeat to West Ham.
That loss has left Spurs languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, with just seven wins from 22 matches this season.
Supporter frustration has also become increasingly visible, with sections of the crowd turning on the former Brentford manager. During the closing moments of the West Ham game, Frank was met with chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” from disgruntled fans.
Frank was appointed in June after the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, but results have failed to improve significantly. Tottenham have managed only one victory in their last eight matches and have already been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.
Despite domestic struggles, Spurs remain in contention in Europe. They currently sit 11th in the Champions League standings and face a crucial encounter against Borussia Dortmund this week, a match that could play a decisive role in their bid to reach the knockout stages.
With pressure intensifying both internally and externally, Tottenham’s leadership must now decide whether to act swiftly or allow Frank more time to reverse the club’s fortunes.
