TikToker Jailed 7 Months Over Threat To Kill President

JAILED! David Afful

David Afful, a 30-year-old porter (Kayayo) who threatened to kill all government officials in a viral TikTok video, has been sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment by a Circuit Court in Accra.

The convict, known on social media as Kwame Nkrumah II, was arrested on September 13 after the video of him making the threats popped up on August 31.

“If I get a cutlass or a gun, I will kill all government officials, burn markets, destroy government vehicles as well as diplomatic vehicles,” he said in the video which has landed him in prison.

He was charged with two offences; threat of death and offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace.

He pleaded guilty to the charge of offensive conduct and was convicted on his own plea of guilt by the court, presided over by His Honour Jojo Amoah Hagan.

Court document indicates that the convict also urged the youth of the country to kill politicians and government officials, burn government vehicles and buildings.

The document further state that David Afful admitted the offence during interrogation and allegedly told the police that “he wants a revolution in the country.”

The court, after sentencing the convict, directed the police to ensure that they supervise the deletion of the impugned video.

Meanwhile, David Afful is expected back in court on October 15, 2025, for the second leg of the case after he pleaded not guilty to the offence of threat of death.

The convict has also pleaded with government officials for forgiveness, indicating that “I have no knowledge about what I said.”
