Popular hiplife/hiphop artiste, Aletse Tinny, known in private life as Nii Addo Quaynor, has released a new and exceptionally controversial song titled ‘Who’s The best Rapper’.
The track was released on Tuesday together with its music video on TV7 and became an instant topic of discussion perhaps because it was released at a time his colleague artistes are at each other’s throats claiming to be the ‘best rapper.’
It mentions the names of Edem, Sarkodie, E.L, M.anifest, Cabuum and others and asks who, indeed, the best rapper is.
Tinny in the song says it is a mission of vanity for artistes to be competing over who is the best rapper and, therefore, such contests makes no sense to him.
Interestingly, Tinny in same song says he does not fear the ‘rap battle’ because he believes he is good at rap music.
NEWSW-ONE asked Tinny why he decided to compose such a song at a time there is controversy between the fans of Sarkodie and M.anifest on who is the best rapper between the two.
“You may not believe me, but I have evidence to prove that I did this song immediately after the VGMA and it has nothing to do with what you say is going on now,” he explained and added that the timing was coincidental but not intentional.
When asked who he thought the real best rapper was, Tinny said it depends on who is listening to the rap.
“When you ask any member of the BMF, they would tell you Tinny is the best rapper. Ask a member of Sark’s fan base the same question and the person would tell you it is Sarkodie. Same thing happens if you ask fans of E.L or Edem, or Okyeame Kwame.”
