Trump Hospitalized, 2 Senators Test Positive For Coronavirus

US President Donald Trump has been hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus alongside his wife, Melania Trump.

He was initially receiving treatment for his virus at the White House but was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday evening, October 2, 2020.

That was less than 24 hours after news broke about his Covid-19 diagnosis.

Mr Trump’s physician, Navy Cmdr. Dr. Sean Conley, gave an update yesterday on his condition, saying in a memo that the US President is “doing very well” and has not required any supplemental oxygen, but that doctors have initiated the antiviral drug remdesivir, which has been shown to shorten recovery time for some coronavirus patients.

Conley stated that he had recommended Trump’s transfer from the White House to Walter Reed earlier Friday in consultation with specialists from both Walter Reed and Johns Hopkins University.

President Trump himself tweeted yesterday evening, saying: “Going well, I think! Thank you to all. LOVE!!!”
