Ugandan Tests Positive For Coronavirus At Olympic Games

A member of Uganda’s Olympic Games team has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus in Tokyo, Japan.

It is first case of coronavirus recorded among persons expected to participate in the Games scheduled for July 2021.

The Games are to start on July 23, 2021 in Tokyo.

In 2020, the Games were postponed due to coronavirus.

Uganda has in recent days been experiencing rise in its covid19 cases.

The member of the Ugandan who tested positive for the virus was not named.

But reports say the person who tested positive was part of a nine-member squad who had all been vaccinated.

According to reports, the squad who included boxers, coaches, and officials – had also tested negative before leaving Uganda except for one person.
