We Are Ready For You- Nana Akomea Warns Mahama

Nana Akomea

FROM ALL indications, former President Mahama faces an uphill task in his bid to become president again in 2024 on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Nana Akomea, an influential member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has vowed to make sure that Mr. Mahama would not realise his presidential ambition in 2024.

According to Nana Akomea, the NDC delegates would definitely vote for Mr. Mahama as their next presidential candidate for the 2024 polls on Saturday to face the NPP’s candidate.

However, without mincing words, Nana Akomea stated emphatically that the NPP would release a full dossier of how Mr. Mahama mismanaged the country when he was president.

According to him, by the time the NPP would finish their thorough campaign against Mr. Mahama, no voter in the country would have the interest or desire to vote for Mr. Mahama.

“We are waiting for you,” Nana Akomea boldly told Mr. Mahama when speaking on Peace FM on Tuesday, adding that after NDC’s election on Saturday, the NPP would open fire on Mahama.

He stated that “the NDC presidential election is a forgone conclusion for Mahama as he will easily emerge victorious when the party goes to polls to elect their flagbearer on Saturday.

“After his victory, we (NPP) will release a full dossier of the negative records of Mr. Mahama when he was Ghana’s president for one-term. His track record as president is very bad.”

Nana Akomea also said Mr. Mahama has nothing new to offer Ghanaians should he be elected as president, stressing that Mahama would lead the NDC to another defeat in 2024.

“Mahama will win the NDC presidential primaries on Saturday because the NDC members and delegates have him at heart. But the danger is that, Ghanaians would reject Mahama,” he added.

Tracing records, Nana Akomea recounted how Mr. Mahama lost by over one million votes during the 2016 elections, saying “that alone shows how he performed badly as president”.

He said Mr. Mahama lost the 2016 polls with over one million votes margin, which is a record in Ghana and Africa, saying “no sitting president in Africa has lost by that huge margin before”.

Sounding very confident, Nana Akomea stated that “Any candidate that the NPP will eventually elect as its flagbearer for the 2024 election, would easily beat Mahama and the NDC”.

“I’m saying this because the NPP is coming with a new person and the NDC is coming with the same Mahama, who is noted for mismanagement, so Ghanaians would reject him,” he stressed.

Nana Akomea, sounding sarcastic, also said the media in the country have even lost interest in the NDC, saying “the NDC primaries is on Saturday but the media is silent about the event”.
