Woman, 2 Sons Killed In Bloody Fight

A 26-YEAR-old man has allegedly butchered to death his biological mother over a slight misunderstanding, after which he engaged his elder brother in a dangerous machete fight, leading to the deaths of the two siblings.

The bloody incident, which reportedly happened at Achiase near Offinso in the Ashanti Region on Monday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m., is said to have sparked shock waves and melancholic scenes in the farming community.

Ibrahim Sumaila, the Assemblyman for Abira Ataase Electoral Area, confirming the report to journalists, disclosed that the 26-year-old man, name not known, had issues with his 65-year-old mother.

According to him, on Monday afternoon, the suspect, without any provocation, pulled a sharp machete and started butchering his helpless mother, name not known, until she sadly bled profusely and gave up the ghost.

He said the suspect’s elder brother, whom he only identified as Kofi, 36 years old, later on confronted his younger brother for killing their mother, and the ensuing machete brawl also sadly led to the deaths of the two brothers.

The Assemblyman, who was shocked to the marrow, said when he rushed to the crime scene, he was met with a gory spectacle of the butchered bodies of the woman and her two sons, who were then lying in a pool of blood.

“We saw three dead bodies, lying in a pool of blood when we rushed to the scene, so we reported the case to the Barekese Police, who came for the bodies and deposited them at the Saint Patrick’s Hospital mortuary in Offinso.

“From reports, the 26-year-old man had issues with his mother, and on Monday, through the influence of narcotic drugs, he butchered his mother, leading to a machete fight with his brother, which claimed their lives,” he said.
