The annual Women In Worship gospel concert was launched in Accra on Saturday with a health walk to create awareness on cervical cancer.

This year’s gospel concert will take place at the Dome of the Action Chapel on September 22.

Gospel artistes like Diana Hamilton, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Cece Twum, Cindy Thompson and a host of others, including Nigeria’s Mercy Chinwo, will perform at the event.

The walk was aimed at purposely creating awareness on cervical cancer and raise money to support women who live with the ailment.

It brought together women and men from all walks of life to participate in it.

It started from the Action Chapel off the Spintex road through the Airport traffic light to the Accra Mall and back to the Action Chapel. Participants were subsequently taken through some aerobic sessions. There was also a health screening activity for participants.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Genet Services and founder of the event, Mrs. Georgina Nettey, reiterated the call to support women with cervical cancer.

“The purpose of the walk is to sensitise people and let them know that cervical cancer is very prevalent in our society and we need take it seriously. Women In Worship 2019 is almost the engine of cervical cancer. We organise it to raise funds to pay for the bills of cervical cancer patients. This year, we have some good and tasty artistes on the bill and we themed this year’s edition as the ‘Trinity Experience’, which comprises the Holy Spirit, God the Father and the Son,” she also added.
