Participants at the launch
World Shoe has officially been launched in Accra marking a significant beginning of a new chapter for the company as it expands its vision of delivering high quality shoes for every one across the globe.
This significant event marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the company as it expands its vision of having a world with zero shoeless people by delivering high-quality, durable shoes for all.
The launch held at the Zinnia event centre in Accra also provided a platform for the brand to share their vision, mission, and the driving force behind World Shoe’s commitment to creating a lasting impact in the lives of millions.
Speaking at the launch, founder of World Shoe, Manny Ohonme, who was born in Nigeria, shared his personal story behind the company’s inception saying his childhood was marked by poverty and limited access to basic resources.
However, a simple pair of shoe he wore from a contest changed his life and inspired him to create World Shoe, a company dedicated to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to the same opportunity he received.
Manny’s heartfelt message served as a reminder of the profound impact that something as simple as a pair of shoes can have on a child’s dream and future.
Manny also highlighted the company’s broader vision for creating positive change and its commitment to empowering local communities in the country, including the creation of over 200 jobs at the company’s factory at Akosombo.
He emphasised the company’s focus on sustainability, innovation, and local economic growth, which aligns with Ghana’s own aspirations for a prosperous and inclusive future.
Kojo Taylor, President of World Shoe Limited for his part said it is committed to creating economic opportunities in Ghana and across Africa, and also proud of the tangible impact the company has already made.
World Shoe is an footwear company that goes beyond innovation to providing employment, education and health opportunities to communities working near the manufacturing factory at Akosombo. The footwear incorporates antibacterial agents to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, ensuring a healthier environment for the feet.
