Central Also Gets Sports Resource Centre

In a bid to provide a modern sporting platform for the Youth across the country, the Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah has cut sod for the construction of the Central Regional multipurpose Youth and Sports Resource Centre (Dunkwa-On-Offin).

The Minister said “I came to serve, hence, my presence here; we are not here for empty promises.

“It is president Akufo-Addo’s vision to provide platforms for the youth to fulfill their potentials. Nana is using two years to build ten sports complex.”

He said the facility will have a FIFA standard pitch, an eight lane track, basketball, volleyball and tennis court, counseling section, a gym, ICT centre, washrooms, entrepreneurship centre, a gym and a modern restaurant.

He promised the creation of a maintenance unit to take care of routine maintenance of the facility.

CEO, National Youth Authority (NYA), Emmanuel Asigiri promised that the project would be delivered on the nine-month stipulated period.

MCE, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Isaac Awuah commended government and the Youth and Sports Ministry for the project, taking into account the counseling section that will address issues regarding the youth’s career besides the sporting opportunities.

Project contractor, Joe Hackman promised that the project, expected to commence today would be completed in nine months.

He mentioned that the contractor (Ekow Hagan) will engage citizens(artisans) of Dunkwa-On-Offin for the project.
