Seven persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Mr. Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cosy Hills Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai, at Jirapa in the Upper West Region.
The suspects, Kumbata Kwaku, Dookuuri Fausta, Braimah Kasim, Beyuo Felix, Michael Klugey, Charles Tuoze and Favour Nuobe, all workers at the Cossy Hill Hotel, are in police custody assisting the investigation.
A police statement indicated that the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Akuffo Dampare, has dispatched a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to collaborate with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure an in-depth investigation of the incident.
The police have called on the public to assist in giving reliable information to help apprehend the offenders.
According to speculation, his death was the result of a local chieftaincy conflict.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been transported to the Wa Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
The Jirapa town and its surroundings has been thrown into a state of mourning over the alleged murder of the businessman and philanthropist who has positively transformed the Jirapa area.
