Confirmed reports reaching BEATWAVES indicate that one of Ghana’s popular radio presenters, Kwame Adinkra, who resigned from Atinka FM two weeks ago, will on Monday, July 11 start work at Kumasi-based Abusua 96.5 FM, owned by EIB Network.
EIB Network operates a number of radio stations in the country which include Starr FM, Live FM, Kasapa FM, all in Accra, Empire Radio in Takoradi and Agoo FM in Nkawkaw.
Before joining Abusua FM, Kwame Adinkra was the host of Atinka Morning Drive, a popular morning show programme on Atinka FM.
The 2015 best morning show host of the year, according to sources, will host Abusua FM’s morning show dubbed Abusua Nkomo from Monday, July 11.
The Abusua FM’s move is one that is set to reintroduce him to a territory he knows all too well, and also offer the EIB Network-owned station a good head start.
He told BEATWAVES that the introduction of segments on his morning show is to change the trend of radio broadcasting in Ashanti Region and also to create a unique style to meet the demand of radio listeners within the Kumasi Metropolis.
Kwame Adinkra’s decision to leave Accra a little over a year after joining Atinka FM was predicted. Before moving to Accra, he enjoyed an unmatched popularity in the Ashanti Region as the most listened-to morning radio host on Angel FM. He has made a lot of impacts on radio, paving the way for him to be counted among the best in Kumasi for more than a decade during his days at Otec FM, Fox FM, Kapital FM and Angel FM.
