The President of Group Ideal, Nii Kotei Dzani has caution people trying to sabotage President Nana Addo’s efforts to improve the standard of living in the country.

According to him, although the President was initiating a number of programmes such as the removal of some taxes and the Free Senior High School Policy aimed at transforming the economic fortunes of Ghanaians, some people are praying for his downfall.

Speaking at this year’s carols service for staff of the Groupe’s subsidiary companies to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Dr Dzani who is also a member of Council of State said the economy was not doomed as being alleged by critics .

He said Ghana’s economy was rather recovering because of the policies being implemented by the government.

He therefore urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the economy by investing in sectors such as gas and oil.

“Those predicting doom for Ghana’s economy are not God. It is recovering and we need to take advantage of it” he said.

He added that the economy was conducive for the youth in the country to enter into entrepreneuring.

“This is the time for the youth to take advantage and open businesses because the government is offering incentives. Economic challenges bring its own opportunities,” he added.

Highlighting on the achievements of the Groupe in 2017, Dr Dzani said in spite of the economic challenges, they had been able to increase their assets from 1 billion cedis to 1.5 billion cedis this year.

He added that they were able to achieve this feat because they took advantage of the challenging environment to create opportunities.

He further announced that based on the excellent performance of the Groupe, the board of directors of Groupe Ideal had decided on a salary increment of between 25 to 35 percent for staff in the coming year.

This, he said aims at encouraging the workers to do more. He also urged the workers to make use of the staff loan and vehicle policies as well as mortgage facility which he noted would improve the standard of living of the workers.

Dr Dzani touching on the projections for 2018 said, there would not be any acquisition but the Groupe would rather seek to consolidate their growth and expand to other regions.

In his welcoming address, the Chief Executive Officer of Idea Financial Holdings, Mr Charles Arkuh called on Christians to use the birth of Jesus Christ to forgive one another.

He said the birth of Jesus Christ shows the love of God to mankind, hence the occasion must be used to showcase love towards one another.

The carol service was graced by a number dignitaries including the Bishop Charles Agyinasare and Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh among others.

The service witnessed Christmas carols from the Winneba Youth Choir as well as the Harmonic and Ideal Melodies of TV Africa and Groupe Ideal respectively.
