The students and faculty with some executives of GGBL
Executive MBA students from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) paid an industrial visit to the Achimota brewery of the Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) in Accra.
The students, numbering about 30 from various countries, including Spain, Italy, Philippines, China, Singapore, Nigeria and Ghana, toured the brewery and were taken through the brewing process of a premium beer.
They were also given an overview of GGBL’s operations.
Addressing the students, Gabriel Opoku-Asare, Corporate Relations Director of GGBL said, “GGBL’s performance ambition is to be one of the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products company in Ghana and requires that all aspects of our operations – raw material sourcing, safety, brewing, packaging and marketing of our products- are to the highest standard. In line with our sustainability and responsibility agenda, GGBL continues to invest in the communities in which we live and operate in three thematic areas – demonstrating our leadership in alcohol in society with measurable programmes, which aim to reduce alcohol abuse, building thriving communities with a sustainable local raw material sourcing programme and providing safe accessible water to vulnerable communities and reducing our environmental impact with initiatives that promote a cleaner and safer environment.”
Fafali Shalom Opoku, Class Coordinator, on behalf of the students, expressed her appreciation to the GGBL team for hosting the group, as well as sharing manufacturing best practices that could be adopted by various professional students in their respective organizations and businesses.
